Peachtree gives me more than just a place to work... it gives me a family. Chef Benjamin Hamrah is always going above and beyond to support me, as well our local businesses and the culinary community at large. He takes catering to the next level by pushing its boundaries and creating deep, memorable experiences. I couldn't ask for a better partner in crime!
Matt and Cassie Boness are a husband and wife duo behind the food blog Feast Native, which centers around the farm-to-table movement here in Missouri. They are doing such important work by documenting the entire cycle that our food goes through to get from the soil to our mouths. If there is a local food event happening, you can bet they'll be there!
You have no idea how much of a relief it is to have such a highly-skilled photographer to collaborate with. He gives my food it's own life by capturing it in such creative ways. When Drew shows up, you always know something really special is about to go down... It is no secret that #DrewPiesterIsTheShit.
My beloved Barred Owl is a dangerous triple threat: an ethical, whole-animal butcher shop, a curated and innovative bar program, and a true farm-to-table dining experience, all flowing in harmony with one another.
Emily and Paul are the epitome of the dynamic duo. They grow some of the most badass veggies in Mid-Missouri, and on top of that, they are experts in raising ethical livestock as well as a beautiful array of flowers. My favorite part is that they work directly with chefs and retaurants to provide them with local, sustainable produce all year round—and they even take requests!
Delicious beer, friendly staff, and an outdoor lawn? I mean, come on! Logboat is the full package. I am so grateful to have a business like them that supports me and my mission to build community through food and gatherings.
It is not an exaggeration to say that I couldn't do what I do without the Columbia Farmer's Market. Not only does it provide me with the freshest seasonal ingredients, but it has also given me a network of friends and collaborators. Corrina does an incredible job of building community around food and sustainability, as well as empowering chefs and home cooks alike.
I have so much love for the team over at Sager | Braudis. Not only do they have the best taste in art that you'll find in Missouri, but they are some of the most supportive and authentic people I've ever met. They are always willing to push the boundaries and open up their gallery for anyone with a dream. It truly is an honor to work closely with their team.
Cafe Berlin elevates the all-American diner experience by incorporating art, live music, craft beer and delicious multicultural cuisine, and using their platform to bring about social change. Chef Jess Bowman deserves so much credit for blending these different elements to help people build a connection to their food and where it comes from.
There are few people I know that work harder than Kristen over at Hempsley. She has such a strong brand and a wealth of knowledge when it comes to responsible cannabis use and other natural wellness techniques. I love collaborating with her because I always learn something new! Check out her shop and support my favorite female cannabis entrepreneur!
Blue Bell is a strikingly gorgeous wedding and event venue in the historic town of Rocheport, MO, that I was fortunate to work at for a brief time. The farm has owned by the same family for seven generations, so they align deeply with me on values of building community and sourcing local food.
Wynne is one of my very favorite ceramicists, and is someone I've been lucky to get to know recently. Her and her studio are such an inspiration to me! I love the fact that her work is heavily focused around food and helping people like me make their dishes look their very best. Wynne is probably the biggest guest star of this website, considering so many of my dishes are plated on Noble Plateware.
Clay Stem (aka Microgreen Man) is a burly bearded man with a heart of gold. He has a beautiful wife and two wonderful kids, who all pitch in to help grow a plethora of different microgreens and delicious garden veggies out of their home. I always feel like a kid on Christmas when he shows up with his cooler!
Greta's work really hits home for me... literally! She painted a mural in the foyer at my house that still gives me goosebumps to this day. She is such a wonderful friend whose art I feel represents me on a surreal, emotional level. My cooking and food styling is highly inspired by her work, especially in her use of lines and color.
Jessica and Aubrey have the perfect balance of creativity and professionalism. They really understand how to use photography to invoke emotion and can make just about anything look beautiful. If you want to know what I mean, you should really go check out their work in my ebook, they really know how to make a girl shine!
